Its a wire and the internets talk to it.
Roger had a broken computer so there was no sign of him on the Battlefield, that is Battlecheat 4.
He was missed by all but fortunately it was his birthday so it was time for an upgrade.
Our gaming clan had a whip round as all members get upgrades at birthdays.
Roger brought the pc round and it was determined it was a power supply failure so all the old bits were going to be reused.

The case is a corsair carbide spec-01.
Other items to reuse are a gtx570 graphics and 12gb of hyper X DDR3 1600.

With the old power supply carefully removed and dumped it was time to look at the new goodies.

    The bits are –
An intel i7 4770k, an MSI Z97Gaming 3 motherboard, an EVGA SUPERNOVA 750 G2 power supply, a Cooler Master Nepton 240M and some cable ties (not wire wrappers for bread bags)

The old hardware was carefully removed as this is now a teamspeak server along with other VM tasks. Displaced parts always quickly find a new home and the old gamer has now been TUPE’d to the new role of server.

The MSI Gamer 3 board was assembled first. The i7 4770k was fitted and the nice (Blue ??) Hyper X DDR3 memory was fitted in its original pairing. It was strange to see the case had no upper cable hole for the power to board connector in the top leftt hand corner; otherwise this would have been threaded through prior to fitting the motherboard. The motherboard was then fitted.

The Cooler Master Nepton 240M had been run up outside off the case first to check for leaks and functionality. All was good and it was then fitted in the case and mounted on the motherboard.

The rest of the items were then installed and wired up. The wiring was tidied up and then the Led lighting was fitted prior to a fresh windows install.

Now up and running its nice to have Roger back online and in the game with colossus.

Remember the old bits?? are you posting a build log Bakerman ?

Nice one shift, I would post a build log if it wasn't already 90% done! :)

Anyway some of you may recognise the Nepton 240, yes it was the winning cooler I got right here on eTeknix, and it has found a permanent home, It was originally destined for my server build, but we had to make Roger's PC extra snazzy! :)

p.s. the server build will go through a few guises so yeah logs incoming :)

    Looking forward to 'em!

Got to love a good community that help others out in time of need / at special occasions.

I'm part of a few car owners clubs too that have whip arouns when needed, one prime example is one guys engine decided to drop it's bottom end a few months back. The lads on the club did a whip around for him and gave him the money on his Birthday, They raised £1550 for him.

Not only was it a pleasent surpise at the amount raised but it also meant he could forge and go with a bigger Turbo...

I love communities like that! ^_^

So Roger is very pleased with his machine, then Aria had a massive special offer on 970's (£239 who can say no right?) so here's the pics of him doing his own GPU install (First ever!) :)

Yep told him to get on it, sent Aria's instructions from Facebook (since he doesn't do social media).

P.S. That Palit 570 was my old card, donated to him some time ago :) I originally bought that for BF3!

    Yay!

I'm reall enjoying The Witcher 3 at the moment, the 970 does a good job of plodding through it at decent frames.
