I beg to differ, anything that you enjoy is not a waste of money, I am still tempted and should I suddenly find myself with the resource for getting one or two of those bad boys, I would not hesitate, sure you can play the waiting game which is fine if your current setup is sufficient, but I want 4k darn it!

    Completely agree.

People spend their money on what they want. You want a Titan X, you go and buy one!

I have no Reason to SLi my 970 but I will be! xD Nothing more fun than wasting money eh? :p

I'll make that choice when I get there! :)

The second card is coming from Work as a 'Gift' for being there for 10 years. haha. So I have to wait until July for the 2nd card :D

I'm hoping that with the release of Windows 10 and DX12, The SLi'd 970's will keep me going for quite some time.

You could get a Nvidia 980ti, which is gonna be a titan x with half the memory.

I agree with Big_D, wait for 980TI or go AMD if you want good performance cheap (wait until they really lowered the price tho)

980TI...soon...so sooon... (hopefully)...I am dying to buy a new card but holding out for that. It'll max out GTAV at 3440x1440 with that 6gb.

I think I'll be waiting for the new-gen AMD cards before I even considering upgrading from my GTX 980.

I would probably wait for the GTX 980 Ti. Performances are leaked.

lots of fairly dodgy performance leaks around the web for the 980Ti, a recent one showing Boost at 1071MHz, which doesn't seem that much?
Anyway it's a very exciting month for GPU annoucements lets see what happens :)

True story. Friend of mine is waiting for stats on the 980Ti, initially going single GPU but will SLi eventually I think.

He also has plans to go full water cooled, the bits so far is near $900 just for the cooling (He lives in NYC atm)

if I was going single GPU 980Ti appears to be great balance between price/performance

I would probably go with SLI-ing 2 x GTX 970 (or something similar) than a Titan X. Mostly because I am a frugal blighter and I don't game on 4K yet. The exchange rate of ZAR to USD is absolutely silly at the moment so I try to avoid products with a premium attached to them.
