Roger had a broken computer so there was no sign of him on the Battlefield, that is Battlecheat 4. He was missed by all but fortunately it was his birthday so it was time for an upgrade. Our gaming clan had a whip round as all members get upgrades at birthdays. Roger brought the pc round and it was determined it was a power supply failure so all the old bits were going to be reused. The case is a corsair carbide spec-01. Other items to reuse are a gtx570 graphics and 12gb of hyper X DDR3 1600. With the old power supply carefully removed and dumped it was time to look at the new goodies. The bits are – An intel i7 4770k, an MSI Z97Gaming 3 motherboard, an EVGA SUPERNOVA 750 G2 power supply, a Cooler Master Nepton 240M and some cable ties (not wire wrappers for bread bags) The old hardware was carefully removed as this is now a teamspeak server along with other VM tasks. Displaced parts always quickly find a new home and the old gamer has now been TUPE’d to the new role of server. The MSI Gamer 3 board was assembled first. The i7 4770k was fitted and the nice (Blue ??) Hyper X DDR3 memory was fitted in its original pairing. It was strange to see the case had no upper cable hole for the power to board connector in the top leftt hand corner; otherwise this would have been threaded through prior to fitting the motherboard. The motherboard was then fitted. The Cooler Master Nepton 240M had been run up outside off the case first to check for leaks and functionality. All was good and it was then fitted in the case and mounted on the motherboard. The rest of the items were then installed and wired up. The wiring was tidied up and then the Led lighting was fitted prior to a fresh windows install. Now up and running its nice to have Roger back online and in the game with colossus. Remember the old bits?? are you posting a build log Bakerman ?
