Using Thunderbird myself when using a mail program (usually I just use the web interfaces) and transformed almost all my family to Thunderbird too.
One of my favorite things about it compared to outlook f.ex. is that you can easy have all your email addresses in the same setup. And with the recent versions that know a lot of mail providers settings already or can automaticly detect ports on custom ones .. you barely have to enter anything more then your email address and password during setup and it runs.

In the past, for a while, I also used TheBat .. no idea if it's still around though and if any good for current situations and setups - and it wasn't free.

Else, don't think I know any besides OL and OL:express

Hell yeah! Use it 14 years, the most convenient e-mail client. Have all my e-mail for all this years, read some times... messages from 2002 so funny...
